What do DTS and Dolby Digital have in common?

To most educated audio fans, the answer seems obvious.

The less obvious answer is that they both use only Focal speakers in their reference demo rooms.

On Sept 4 2009, we received a purchase order from DTS for a whole 7.2 speaker system based on Focal Professional’s Twin 6ss Be Monitor.

Who would have thought that just a few hours later, on the same day, Dolby Digital would request a large Focal system as well?! Dolby acquired a full Electra Be 9.2 system that would be installed in the new Dolby Digital Reference facility.  No less than three pair of 1038Be for Front, Side and Rears, plus a pair of 1008Be for front height channels, a CC1008Be for center and two units of SW1000Be for subs.
